Believe me when I say I’m grateful for rain.  This is northern Texas where the heat index during July and August can cause cracks in the earth deep enough to bury tractors.  But this year we have already received our entire average annual rainfall and it’s only May.  We are lucky to live in a part of Texas that has rolling hills and contours but the ground is totally saturated, making it impossible for additional rainfall to escape.  Our lower pastures are flooding, again and again!  We are safe and the alpacas aren’t in any danger but as the drone video shows, we have a lot of extra water to share with everyone downstream from us.
